You then complete a single battle and the match is over. The game will load and the two of you will be able to pick from a set of preselected battles. I'm trying to set it up so you can join a chat room with other people and challenge them to a match. Honestly that thought never occured to me. I'm not planning on setting it up so you can play the whole game with someone. Did you have this problem? Come to think of it we might have been playing a difficulty mod which would explain the inballance. I remember the enemy having a huge advantage with their stats being superior to the Force. I've played my son a couple battles before. Is the force running low on gold? Focus down the members that aren't Bowie so you need to res them. I could go on about this for a while but there are even different strategies that the enemies can employ. We are playing on normal difficulty and I think the Kraken fight is impossible for the force to win if the other player plays with even a couple mistakes, as the only party members that can hit the Kraken are Peter and Luke. We have completed up until the Taros fight and I believe that I have 8 points and he has 9. We were doing a point system where if I (Shining Force) had won the battle first try, I got a point and if he killed Bowie first try, he got a point. We agreed on the stipulation of no grinding (not repeating battles) because who has the time for that? So that means there would be a save state at the beginning of the battle because Bowie could not die or that would be considered grinding. Only saw this post now, but my brother and I were doing a SF2 playthrough like this and it is pretty hard. r/tbs/ - Subreddit for general turn-based strategy games. r/StrategyRpg - Subreddit for the genre most Shining Force games are in.
